EAGLE NEST LAKE CLOSED TO ICE FISHING
EAGLE NEST, N.M. – Eagle Nest Lake has been indefinitely closed to ice fishing because the ice is too thin to safely support anglers, officials with New Mexico Game and Fish and New Mexico State Parks announced Friday. The closure was prompted by a recent warm spell that significantly melted ice around the shoreline and left large areas of open water in the lake. The lake will reopen to ice fishing if and when conditions permit. For more information, contact Eagle Nest Lake State Park at (505) 377-1594.
