Rio Guadalupe afternoon, takes 12 rainbows 7 browns. 7-10″ range

Flows are 225 cfs, low and clear and fishing is excellent. Fish counts show brown trout biomass and quality at Gold Medal Water standards

A little windy, occasional shower, otherwise beautiful weather. Fishing very slow using flies. Fished the Middle Fork.

awful. fishing at this lake has diminished so bad. with current gas prices i do not recommend wasting your gas going here. pecos is much better…..

10″-12″ rainbows

On the 1st I fished with Rita and fishing was great from the start. Fish were on the Caddis big time and Rita put on a clinic..She fished a foamed-bodied Caddis with a Caddis Larva dropper…Lots of action on the dry..Her dry was destroyed by the end ‘o day..I caught a few also..Our best day on the Red this year so far.

920cfs Warm March temps have started a premature runoff situation on the Rio. We need some cooler weather to stall the onslaught of high, muddy water. Caddis should be happening in a couple of weeks and levels are dropping a bit and have been as high as 1200cfs.

This stream is just starting to wake up and fishing has been fair with 2 nymph rigs..A weighted nymph with a small [#14] caddis larva dropper fished with an indicator. This isn’t an easy stream to fish but there are some nice fish in here.
